At present, the plywood veneer dryers used by plywood manufacturers are mainly multilayer mesh belt veneer dryers and roller veneer dryers. The mesh belt veneer dryer can be used to dry the front and back plates and the core board, and the roller veneer  dryer is mainly used to dry the core board.

1. Mesh belt veneer dryer

The mesh belt veneer dryer uses the upper and lower mesh belts to transport the veneer. The lower mesh belt is mainly used for support and transmission, and the upper mesh belt is used for compaction. Its function is to give proper compaction force during the veneer drying process. To prevent the veneer from deforming during the drying process.

The mesh belt of the mesh belt dryer is a 2.5 mm × 1 mm (width × thickness) galvanized flat iron wire, which is spirally surrounded by left and right, and a metal mesh belt composed of a 3 mm diameter galvanized round iron wire is introduced in the middle. .

For veneer dryers conveyed with mesh belts, the correct mesh belt length is important. In the process of mesh belt transmission, if the mesh belt is too loose, the transmission is not stable, and the degree of sagging of the mesh belt will cause the veneer to be deformed; if the mesh belt is too tight, the mesh belt will be stretched and deformed, shortening the mesh belt Service life. The sag of the tightness of the mesh belt between two adjacent drive rollers should be 10 mm. The adjustment screws on the roller bearings are commonly used to adjust the position of the bearings and change the tightness of the mesh belt.

Another problem with mesh belt drive is mesh belt rectification. Due to the large length of the mesh belt and the limited accuracy, the phenomenon of deviation of the mesh belt may occur during transmission. When the mesh belt runs off, the edge of the mesh belt will be scratched on the drying frame, and the brazed joint of the edge of the mesh belt will be damaged, affecting the life of the mesh belt. Therefore, the current mesh belt veneer dryer adds a device to adjust the deviation to prevent this situation.

2. The roller vener  dryer

Roller veneer dryers use a pair of upper and lower roller sets, and rely on the rotation and friction of the roller sets to drive the veneer.

A roller dryer has a sprocket at one end of the lower roller and a long gear at the other end. The chain drives the sprocket to rotate, the lower roller rotates, and the upper roller rotates. The upper roller is placed on the lower roller with its own weight. The rotation of the roller drives the veneer forward. The bearing on one end of the upper roller has a groove shape, and the other end is equipped with a long-tooth gear to match. Therefore, the upper roller can move within a certain range, and can be adapted to veneers of different thicknesses, and due to the gravity of the upper roller, the roller is always in contact with the surface of the veneer.
